As you all have probably heard via media sources Streptococcus A is currently on the rise in children. We would like to ask all parents to be extra vigilant and mindful of the following signs and symptoms;
1.Strep throat - a sore, red throat. Your tonsils may be swollen and have white spots on them.
2. Scarlet fever - an illness that follows strep throat. It causes a red rash on the body.
3. Impetigo - a skin infection
4. Toxic shock syndrome
5. Cellulitis and necrotizing fasciitis (flesh-eating disease)
If you notice any of these symptoms, please seek medical advice immediately as unfortunately it can lead to serious repercussions.
